What does it take to be a CASA volunteer?

Being a CASA volunteer does not require any special education or background. You must pass a background check, participate in a 30-hour pre-service training course and agree to stay with a case until it is closed (a year and a half on average). 2011 Training Opportunities:

Hamblen County CASA Training begins May 16th at First Presbyterian Church Morristown every Monday and Friday 1pm-4pm through June 17th. Contact 865.329.3399 for more details.
