CASA of East Tennessee recently celebrated our new service year with a Summer Whites Wine and Cheese party at the home of CASA Board President, Stephen L. Miller. Guests were also treated to perfect summer night music by classical guitarist Clark Miller. Guests included CASA of East Tennessee Board Members: Laura Metcalf, John Tackett, Kelly Brennan, Andrea Kline, Arrin Zadeh, Kristi Jones, Wesley Allison, Kristi Bauer and Allison Starnes-Anglea. 2014 Red Shoe Gala
The 2014 Red Shoe Gala was a great success! We had a great crowd on hand to enjoy delicious food from The Orangery, bid on festive silent auction items, and get photos taken with Dorothy! This fun evening furthers our efforts to serve some of our community’s most vulnerable children by providing them with trained volunteers who advocate for their best interests. Thanks to all who attended and to our wonderful sponsors!
Thanks to all our sponsors for a great night that supports our efforts to serve more kids in need of a voice.
Yellow Brick Road Sponsors: The Garza Law Firm, Home Federal Bank, Egerton McAfee and White Realty & Service Corp.
Emerald City Sponsors: Marathon Petroleum, VMC Facilities, Shred Essentials, Advanced Chiropractic Clinics, and Seymour Storage.
Fall 2013 has been a busy time for CASA of East Tennessee! A few highlights are:
- The launch of our new enewsletter (Sign up by following this link: https://app.e2ma.net/app2/audience/signup/1746444/1727648.8393888/?v=a )
- The swearing in of a fantastic group of 10 new CASA volunteers! We are up to our largest number of active volunteers in the past 6 years and that means we’ll be serving even more children in the need of a voice.
Stay tuned for more news! Our next training class will most likely start in late January 2014.
CASA of East Tennessee is pleased to welcome our newest staff members:
After serving in an interim position, Peggy Eighmy became our permanent Court Director in May. She brings a wealth of professional and CASA experience to her role at CASA of East Tennessee. Her office is located in the Knox County Juvenile Court building where she supports our volunteers with their casework and serves as our liaison with the greater Court community.
Summer Colbert is our new Volunteer Coordinator. She previously worked in a similar position at a CASA program in North Georgia and is very eager to help our program grow by recruiting and training more volunteers. She is also responsible for planning inservice opportunities. She will spend most of her time at our administrative offices.
